We celebrated by meeting Amanda, her hubby and that adorable kid, Jane. I don't know what to say about Jane. I keep hearing these horror stories about her meltdowns but I find her very charming. She's a good kid. Pictures tomorrow, unless Amanda beats me to it.
So, what did I have to eat for my Pi Day celebration? My first choice on Pi Day would be pie. But for lunch I had pizza pie! California Pizza Kitchen's Chipotle Chicken pizza to be exact. Delicious!
I refrained from fully geeking out in my celebrations and I did not use pi to calculate the area or the circumference of my pizza. I knew I should have brought my slide rule.
It was a happy coincidence that we were to meet at CPK for lunch so that I could have pizza pie. Really, it was a total coincidence - I wasn't even involved in the restaurant choice. I don't always seek out the geeky side but who am I to argue if the opportunity presents itself? I'm not a geek, the circumstances of my life just make me that way.
20-foot pi
While a 20-foot pie might be a little more fun and interesting, there's a 20 foot sculpture of pi at a technical high school near where I work.
Yeah, I'm a geek.
By the way, I did eventually get to have some real pie to celebrate pi day. I know people say "pizza pie" and I did above but I don't normally consider pizza to be "a pie". As far as I'm concerned, if it's not sweet, it's not pie. Anyway, I did not take a picture to share but it was similar to this pie from last year's celebrations.
Hope your Pi Day was as awesome as mine!

I had a very nice Pi Day too, although I didn't have any real pie. I really don't feel like I have the right to celebrate Pi Day, since I always hated math. But it was, as always, great to see you guys - sorry that we were extremely late!
